The TMT is a supersized 30-meter diameter optical infrared astronomical telescope; this next-generation telescope is on course for construction to start up in 2024. Mr. Hideki Takami from the National Astronomical Observatory explains about the innovation of the imaging technology which is the key to success in achieving a resolution and sensitivity that far exceeds that of existing telescopes.
