Environmental initiatives

Pursuant to our business codes of conduct requiring us to cooperate and operate in harmony with the local communities, we cooperate with the local communities in various ways. We are also an active participant in councils operated by municipalities, public interest corporations, NPOs, and the like.

Making green curtains

Bitter gourd and cucumber planted in June have grown to cover the windows, making natural curtains which suppress temperature rises inside the building. Transpiration (water evaporation from the surface of leaves) keeps the temperature around the plants lower. This is an easy action to prevent global warming and has been done every year.

Conducting volunteer activities for environmental beautification

We clean the areas around our plants every year in order to contribute to the local communities and the environment and raise awareness of the importance of beautification.
In fiscal 2024, cleanup campaigns were conducted at 6 of our sites, including affiliated companies, with the participation of 460 persons, including employees.

Initiatives related to company-owned and privately-owned vehicles

We continue to promote the introduction of ecological cars.In addition, the environmental load has decreased as a result of the decrease of distances travelled by the company cars and commuter cars due to use of Web conferences and home teleworking. On our No Car Day, we encourage employees who normally commute by car to use public transportation, as part of our efforts to promote environmental awareness.We continuously promote the environmental load reduction activities such as further introduction of ecological cars.
