Environmental action plan

By using the results of the conclusion of the COP21 international agreement and international and national trends as the reference, we have set the medium-term targets for a five-year period from FY2021 to FY2025, which is the “second environmental action plan”, and long-term targets, which ends in FY2030. We designated the clarification of environmental contributions of products and the enhancement of our engagement in global issues as the priority themes. The results of the efforts in FY2020 and FY2021 are as follows.

Establishment of a Global EMS

SHIBAURA MACHINE Group acquired certification of the Environmental Management System (EMS)* in our overseas production sites (China, Thailand, and India) to manage environmental activities. In Thailand, where waste management is promoted nationally, we received an award for the industrial district waste management in FY2018. In India, as the community contribution business, we are contributing to the regional communities through the activities rooted in the regions where the factories are located, in the forms of donations for school buildings and pavements of roads surrounding the factories. While the priority tasks vary depending on the country and the region, we are continuously engaged in the enhancement of EMS management level and governance from Japan.
