SHIBAURA MACHINE CO., LTD. Establishes New Local Manufacturing Subsidiary in Anhui Province, China for Optimizing Its Production Framework

SHIBAURA MACHINE CO., LTD. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo／Shigetomo Sakamoto, President) announced that it has established a new local manufacturing subsidiary in Anhui Province, China SHIBAURA MACHINE (ANHUI) CO., LTD.) with the aim of further expanding its business in the Chinese market and improving management efficiency.

The Company established a local manufacturing subsidiary in Shanghai, China in 2002 and has since built a supply system for the China and East Asia markets. In response to recent changes in the market environment, and in order to further reduce costs and strengthen competitiveness, the Company has been implementing a transition since 2024 to a system under which production of small injection molding machines is outsourced on an OEM basis to partner companies within China.
With the completion of this transition to OEM production, and with the aim of optimizing production scale and production efficiency, the Company has established a new local manufacturing subsidiary in Anhui Province, China. Accordingly, the existing local manufacturing subsidiary in Shanghai, China is scheduled to be closed.
