Purpose of Use of Personal Information

Shibaura Machine uses Personal Information of Customers, etc., only to the extent necessary for the purpose of its businesses listed below and for achieving the purpose of use of Personal Information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of May 30, 2003).

1. Businesses of Shibaura Machine

(1) Manufacture and sales of machine tools, textile machines, papermaking machines, printers, industrial machines, electric machines, electronic device, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, hydraulic equipment, mold tools, food machinery, pollution control equipment and components thereof;
(2) Manufacture and sales of cast metal;
(3) Installation of machines and/or equipment;
(4) Measurement certification of density and noise level, etc., environmental measurement for buildings and measurement of working environment;
(5) Measurement and analysis of plastics, metals, minerals, chemicals, lime products, etc.;
(6) Maintenance, construction and repair of buildings, structures, etc.;
(7) Collection and transportation of waste products;
(8) Manufacture and sales of medical devices; and
(9) Other businesses associated with or relating to the foregoing items.

2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

(1) To communicate and share information with Shibaura Machine’s customers (including potential customers, same hereinafter), counterparties, shareholders and other stakeholders;
(2) To provide information concerning Shibaura Machine’s products, services and events, etc.;
(3) To conduct activities concerning the conclusion and performance of agreements with customers or counterparties, etc., and other activities relating to or associated with such activities (including customer support services);
(4) To manage information concerning customers and counterparties;
(5) To conduct studies or analysis in connection with Shibaura Machine’s business activities;
(6) To file various applications and reports to governmental offices and public service organizations, as well as to conduct other activities necessary to pursue Shibaura Machine’s businesses;
(7) To conduct internal and external public relation activities, and to conduct activities relating to or associated with such activities;
(8) To conduct research and development activities, and to conduct activities relating to or associated with such activities;
(9) To participate in activities of various external organizations, and to conduct activities relating to or associated with such activities;
(10) To conduct activities concerning the exercise of rights or fulfillment of obligations by shareholders in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations;
(11) To conduct activities concerning the management of shareholders information, preparation and filing of materials in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations;
(12) To implement various shareholders measures and policies and to conduct investigation and analysis of such implementation;
(13) To communicate with and to share information necessary for conducting activities with members of various organizations to which Shibaura Machine belongs and members belonging to other companies or research institutions with which Shibaura Machine cooperates on co-research or co-development activities;
(14) To communicate with and to share information necessary for conducting activities with contractors engaged by Shibaura Machine;
(15) To communicate with and/or provide information to job applicants (including participants in internship programs and/or recruiting sessions, etc.), as well as for management of recruiting activities;
(16) To communicate with officers, employees, contracted employees, temporary employees, part-time employees etc. of Shibaura Machine, and to share information necessary for human resource, labor management and other activities;
(17) To communicate with and to share information necessary for conducting activities with affiliated companies and partner companies of Shibaura Machine; and
(18) To conduct other activities associated with or relating to the foregoing business activities and purposes.
